Do you recognize an entrance exam from other faculties?
YES All applicants who passed the entrance exam in the past two years at one of the related faculties and gained at least 14 points can enroll at Dr Lazar Vrkatić Faculty of Law and Business Studies without retaking the entrance exam..
Is Dr Lazar Vrkatić Faculty of Law and Business Studies an accredited institution?
YES All study programmes are accredited as well as the institution itself. Dr Lazar Vrkatić Faculty of Law and Business Studies was founded in 2006 and is the first accredited private higher education institution in Serbia. Accreditation and re-accreditation was obtained thanks to good work and a modern study programmes that involves the quality education and creative professionals who want to actively contribute to the society and the economy
What equipment and premises are available to students?
All lectures and practice classes are held in Faculty buildings in Novi Sad and Niš. The premises both have an adequate number of classrooms equipped according to international teaching standards. In addition to regular classrooms, students are provided with classrooms for practical work and scientific research for each study programme:
- Law clinic
- Business simulations classroom
- Forensic classroom
- Language laboratory
- Psychology laboratory
Many local and international experts are involved in education and training which is contemporary teaching characterized by the consistent application of the Bologna Declaration.
What title is obtained upon graduation?
Dr Lazar Vrkatić Faculty of Law and Business Studies offers undergraduate (BA) and master’s study programmes (MA). Undergraduate studies are made up of three (180 ECTS) or four (240 ECTS) full-time years of coursework. Master’s degree is made up of either one (60 ECTS) or two (120 ECTS) full-time years of coursework that also includes a research component. Upon completion of the three-year undergraduate programmes (180 ESPB), students obtain one of the following titles: Bachelor of Law, Bachelor of Psychology, or Bachelor of Management. Upon completion of the four-year undergraduate programmes (240 ESPB), students obtain one of the following titles: Bachelor of Security Management (Graduate), Bachelor of Economics (Graduate), and Bachelor of English Philology (Graduate). After completing the three-year programmes (180 ECTS), students can enroll in a two-year master's degree programmes (120 ECTS) in Business Psychology or Law, and obtain titles Master of Law or Master of Business Psychology. After completing the four-year programmes (240 ECTS), students can enroll in master's degree programmes (60 ECTS) in English Studies or Security and Crime Science, and obtain titles: Master of English Philology or Master of Security Management..
Do I need to pay for preparation classes?
NO Every year, the Dr. Lazar Vrkatic Faculty of Law and Business Studies organises free preparation classes and consultations for the entrance exams for all study programmes.
Where are the Faculty premises?
Dr Lazar Vrkatić Faculty of Law and Business Studies has two premises, in Novi Sad and Niš. The Faculty address in Novi Sad is Bulevar oslobođenja 76 (see it on the map), and in Niš - Vojvode Mišića 48 ((see it on the map).
Can tuition fee be paid in several installments?
YES Tuition fees for undergraduate and master’s studies amount to € 1,550 and can be paid in 10 installments (the first instalment of €380 to be paid on enrolment + nine monthly instalments of €130 each) or in full, with a 5% discount. When registering, applicants are also required to submit a deposit slip for the payment of the first instalment of tuition fees amounting to €380 (in RSD equivalent, according to the NBS (National Bank of Serbia) middle exchange rate on the day of registering), deposited into the Faculty’s transfer account. The price of tuition fees for undergraduate programmes covers textbooks for preparing and taking exams, semester certificates, certificates of study, and compulsory student insurance. The price of tuition fees for the master’s programmes does not cover the textbooks which are available at the Faculty library.
Do I have to be present for the registration and the enrollment procedure?
YES Personal presence is mandatory.
Do I have to submit original documents or copies?
NO Only certified copies have to be submitted. Only the submitted birth certificate has to be original.
Do we provide a dormitory and a canteen for our students?
Our students can eat at the student restaurants in Novi Sad and Niš, at reduced prices which are applicable to all students. The Faculty does not provide accommodation in student dormitories.
How are extracurricular activities organized?
Our students cooperate with students from other related faculties and colleges in Serbia and abroad. Together they organize traditional meetings of students every year (e.g. law students, management students etc.). At these events, usually held in seaside or mountain resorts, they organize quizzes and competitions, sports and entertainment.
Student Parliaments in both Novi Sad and Niš are very active in organizing students’ extracurricular activities. Student parties are organized in both teaching centres. Various annual tickets and discounts are provided for different cultural and sporting events.
Students in both Novi Sad and Niš can use swimming pools, attend martial arts trainings and use gyms for other sports, depending on their interests, free of charge.
Our students can also attend guest lectures and conferences, where they can discuss topics from their area of study. The students are also involved in research projects.
Our Faculty was the first private higher education institution in Serbia which established cooperation with one of the most important international student organizations, AIESEC. The students who are AIESEC members actively participate in the realization of various projects. Our law students also cooperate with ELSA, the European organization of law students.
